Have fun!

Have fun!

I like how the first objective of every IIHF program at every level is “have fun”.

Also, this is something that hits me on the ref handbook: create a social environment.

When I first started skating, unker B once told me – the rink is a skater’s sanctuary. That he feels glad that so many of these kids whom if they don’t skate he wouldn’t know what they be doing outside, found a safe place to be, a place where they grow as a family, a place where they feel proud to be at. and it’s up to us adults to shape the environment, to show them what it’s like to be a contributing member of the society.

It’s up to us to shape a social environment for growing adults. It’s on us to develop a society of contributing adults through our shared passion on the ice, not just our single chosen sport.
